On the first weekend in May Burloak paddlers Adam vanKoeverdan and Mark Oldershaw came one step closer to paddling in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing at trials in Atlanta, Georgia. Also paddling in this event were Brady Reardon, Mark Klevinas, Jamie Andison, Kevin Lohrenz, Paul Bryant, Cory Rublee and Christopher Mehak. For race results, click here. The next set of trials and Pan American Canoe Championships start May 15th in Montreal.

Maple Lodge Farms Fundraiser (new!): An important fundraiser the Maple Lodge Farms chicken order. Our first order was very popular and raised some good money for the club. Get more information for this program at the icebreaker or forms are in the mail slots at the club. Or contact Jan Van Huuksloot at email. Forms are due May 20th.

Mississauga Regatta: Congratulations to all paddlers who raced in the Missy Regatta! We are off to a good start for a great paddling year! Click here for photos.

The Ice Breaker: Our annual spring social event will be held on May 5th.New members are encouraged to come and get to know us. Food will be potluck. Silent Auction. Dancing.

The Shop and Save program has some exciting new promotions coming up: The biggest news is that the BCC board has agreed to promote this program further by offering 60% of funds raised per year by each paddler/family to go back to the paddler/family after $60.00 is raised. This is not too hard to do, especially with Xmas coming up and especially as the Shop and Save program has things you will buy anyway (like food and gas). A great way to decrease your paddling costs!

Our newest fundraising drive: It is an easy and painless way to shop while raising funds for your club! Use this online site: Preferredone to register and see all the different stores that are available to you. Buy a card or gift card online and you will be helping your club.Orders placed (and paid for) before noon on Mondays are delivered weekly to the club on Fridays. We encourage everyone to get into the habit of ordering online on a weekly basis-the club earns anywhere from 1.5% to 15 % of your order depending on which retailers you purchase gift cards from!
