Come and join us on Saturday, May 1 for the first ever Burloak 8@8 - an 8km Road Race and 1km Kidʼs Run. Run with the members of our National Team including 3 time Olympic Medalist Adam van Koeverden!

All proceeds go to support the Burloak Canoe Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of children and youth in the Olympic sports of Sprint Canoe and Kayak.

Route

The race will start and finish at the Burloak Canoe Club. The route is picturesque, winding along the Lake Ontario waterfront and through historic Olde Oakville. After the race, attend the awards ceremony and enjoy the catered BBQ and beer tent. Dance to the music of a live band on the shores of 16 Mile Creek.

Time

The 8km Road Race will commence at 8:00 pm. The 1km Kid’s Run starts at 7:30pm.

Registration

Online registration can be found at http://www.bethegame.pro/Burloak8@8.html. There also is a flyer with a registration form attached below.

Early Registration for the 8km is $40, and 1km is $20.
Entries must be post marked or dropped off at The Running Company or entered online by April 15, 2010.

After April 15, 2010, Late Registration for the 8km is $45, and 1km is $20.
Entries must be dropped off at The Running Company by 5:30pm race day or at the Burloak Canoe Club between 5:00 and 7:00pm race day.

Online registration closes at midnight April 25, 2010.

FEE INCLUDES RACE ENTRY, RACE KIT, MEDAL AND CATERED BBQ WITH BEER, WINE OR OTHER BEVERAGE.
EARLY REGISTRATION FOR THE 8KM ROAD RACE INCLUDES A TECHNICAL RACE T-SHIRT.

Awards

Each participant will receive an unique collectors finishing medallion. As well, the top three male and female overall will receive Saucony &/OR THE RUNNING COMPANY merchandise and gift certificates. The top three finishers from each age group will receive complementary Sprint Canoe or Sprint Kayak instruction.
