Canoe ‘09 Looking for Volunteers

PostDateIcon May 30, 2009 - 6:46pm | PostAuthorIcon GClarke

Volunteering for the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships is a great way to get involved in what will be the largest international sporting event ever held in Atlantic Canada. Up to 1000 athletes from 75 countries are coming to Lake Banook in Dartmouth, NS from August 12 to 16.

Canoe ’09 is recruiting volunteers with a diverse range of talents to help leading up to and during the World Championships. There are many exciting positions to be filled.

Volunteers can forge international relationships by acting as a country liaison. Those looking to be involved in the operational side of the competition can volunteer with boat control or audiovisual operations. There are even opportunities to help organize world-class events including the festival, opening ceremonies, and medal presentations.

Anyone interested in a position can apply online at www.canoe09.ca or through email at volunteer@canoe09.ca.
