BCC is again hosting the charity Dragon Boat race for the Oakville Boating Clubs to raise funds for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Halton. Each participating club will enter one crew of 20 for the event. In making up a Burloak crew-parents, members, and immediate family members are encouraged to sign up. Age is not a factor-as in the other Burloak boating clubs, many of the members are 50 or 60's. Practices are Saturday Aug. 29 and Saturday Sept 12 at 11:00. Race day is Saturday Sept. 19. Races are 200m. in length. Each crew will race twice. The race will take about 2 hours.

Participating clubs are Bronte Harbout Yacht Club, Burloak Canoe Club, Oakville Club, Oakville Power Boat Club and Oakville Yacht Squadron. Big Brothers/Big Sisters's putting together a crew as well.

Space will be limited, so don't miss out! There are only 20 spots in a Dragon Boat. If you'd like to be a part of this fun event send an email to Jim Reardon at jim.reardon@crawco.ca right away.
